About Two Paths America

We have been told that our country is polarized. But, we believe there is more that bring us together than divides us and that when we do come together, when we unite, America always wins. Our strength is that our country is bound by shared ideas, by communities and families and people who are free, creative and giving.

Our country has choices to make. Our founders set a course and as we continue the journey forward with each great question before us, each great challenge, we will confront forks in the road -- two paths. Two Paths America is dedicated to facing those choices and finding agreement on the path to take. We can restore our economy and communities, rebuild our military, make America safe from terrorism and re-engage as the leader in the world again. We can do this with reasonable and proven solutions rooted in the American ideals that have seen us through tough days before.

Continued deficit spending and resulting increases in the national debt are seriously undermining our nation, and must be stopped. The political system, including both parties, has proven incapable of the discipline and restraint necessary to solve the problem, yet in state after state, members of the same political system balance budgets because of state constitutional requirements. By amending the Constitution to require balanced budgets, we will make a firm and emphatic commitment to sound financial management of our country, and we will end the deficits that add to our national debt. Two Paths America is committed to passage of a Balanced Budget Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Citizenship and community

Citizenship and community

The strength of our country is in the American people; in our communities and neighborhoods; in each and every one of us. We all have a role to play by living a life bigger than ourselves. It is up to each of us to choose the higher path for ourselves and our community. As Americans, we believe that everyone deserves a chance to get ahead and the opportunity to pursue their God-given destiny. Our country is built from the bottom up, not the top down. We must reclaim citizenship and community in our country.

SECURITY

SECURITY

When America shrinks from the international stage the world grows more dangerous and our country less safe. History foretells what happens when our international alliances are taken for granted and left to decay, despite the rise of increasingly dangerous aggressors. Our once-vigilant alliances have failed to deal with the most urgent issues facing them, challenges such as the refugee crisis, secure borders, cyber-security and intelligence sharing in the face of terrorism. We need to fix those weaknesses, but in ways that help our alliances evolve, not throwing away the underlying values that have held us together and kept the peace for so many decades. We must also find in ourselves once again the courage to stand up for our values internationally – the values on which our shared system of security was built and that have become too easy for us to take for granted. History, once again, will tell us that without courageous action; the values-based alliances our way of life has depended upon will simply disappear, becoming a quaint reminder of a bygone era.
